Melancholic Musings in Poetry

When most people are asked what is most important about life, the answer is commonly along the lines of family and friends. But to simplify – it’s just love, isn’t it? Love is a beautiful feeling when it emerges within your heart. It blooms and bursts into intoxicating colors of first lust, to compatibility, then to commitment, which then requires nourishment to keep it going if the love is to last. Nevertheless, happiness and all good things must come to an end one way or another. The colors fade and for some it simply turns black. The spark is lost until something or someone ignites it once more. Love is pain. But pain can be beautiful once you embrace it.
